Cajun {Pork} Butt Rub
Ya’ll … this recipe is so crazy simple and the end results are unreal! If you want something you can have in the crock pot within 10 minutes…press the start button and walk away for the day… and experience happy tummies around the dinner table that night, then you just hit the jack pot!

Ingredients
  • 4Pound Boneless Pork Butt
  • 1tsp Coarse black pepper
  • 1tsp Onion powder
  • 1.5tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1tsp Oregano
  • 1tsp Thyme
  • 2tsp Garlic powder
  • 2tsp fine sea salt
  • 2.5tsp Paprika
  • 1/2tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1Tbsp Coconut sugaromit for sugar free recipe
  • 2Cups StockSalt free: beef, lamb or chicken
Instructions
  1. If the pork butt is tied with string, remove it {you want to get the rub in all the cracks of the butt}
  2. Combine rub ingredients in small bowl
  3. Massage the rub all over & inside the butt for a few minutes to make sure it’s thoroughly loved
  4. Place rubbed butt in the crock pot, fat side up
  5. Pour 2 cups of stock gently over the butt
  6. Put lid on and set crock pot on low for 8-10 hours and walk away!
  7. When it’s dinner time, simply shred the meat while it’s in the crock pot and serve
Recipe Notes

For an even bigger flavor explosion, go ahead and rub the butt the night before you put it in the crock pot!  

Add in’s/Options:

  • 2 cloves {2 tsp} minced garlic  {*add to rub mixture to create more of a paste and omit the garlic powder from recipe}
  • 1 medium onion chopped {*add to crock pot on top after adding the liquid}
  • Baby carrots {*Add some baby carrots about 90 minutes before you plan to eat or try my roasted carrot recipe}
  • Rice or Cauliflower “rice” make a great bed to soak up the juices
